Tempo is a Safari extension for macOS and a Chrome extension developed by Yan Smaliak ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy explains what information we process, how we use it, and what choices you have when you use Tempo.
1. Information We Process
Tempo is designed to work locally on your device.
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not operate a Tempo backend that stores your browsing activity, website content, or playback history.
- Tempo stores functional settings locally using Apple system storage for the macOS app and Safari extension, or Chrome's local extension storage for the Chrome extension.
- If you contact us directly, we may receive your email address and any information you include in your message.
2. How Tempo Works
Tempo accesses and processes the current webpage locally only as needed to:
- detect HTML5 video elements
- change playback speed
- show on-screen playback feedback
- identify and activate visible skip, close, continue, or next-section controls when available
- work with video players embedded in frames
This limited processing may include website content such as video elements and nearby player controls. Tempo does not transmit that content to us or to third parties. Tempo does not sell personal data and is not designed for advertising, analytics, or behavioral tracking.
3. Local Settings and Commands
Tempo may process limited local information such as:
- playback speed preferences
- extension state and functional settings
